Ashwagandha or "Withania" is particularly difficult to procure in high quality. As with most plants, the quality of the source is most often very poor, from degraded farms or dubious "organic practices" in countries with no regulation. However, even then if you do somehow manage to achieve a good quality, organic product. The Ashwagandha root bark will almost always have been removed (along with many important bioactive compounds) and/or the plant is powdered and stored for a long time before extraction or encapsulation, allowing the valuable compounds to evaporate into thin air! For these reasons. This means that spagyric tinctures or other Ashwaganda extract, that is not grown in house will likely be made from sub-par material.
